Winter Wonderland

Holly Jolly Jubilee!  What a fun day for Whitby Sunrise Rotarians to help the community.  On Saturday December 10, 2016, because of your generous support at our fundraising events, Rotary Whitby Sunrise was able, once again, to donate funds and fun people  (Sunrise Rotarians) to assist Windreach Farmwith their fantastic winter fundraising event.

The day was a perfect mix of winter wonderland and seasonal joy.  Visitors to Windreach Farm came by the car load.  Cars donated $20 as an entrance fee and then enjoyed all Windreach Farm, Holly Jolly Jubilee had to offer.   The trip in the hay wagon took visitors from their parking spot on a snowy ride through the farm past the animals to the stables and riding arena where children enjoyed pony rides, the petting zoo,  a visit with Santa (free photo and gift included!) and everyone hopped to the magical fun beats of the live band.  The Christmas market at the stables show-cased  local vendors with everything from honey to mittens, art, jewelry, makeup, cook ware and even wool dryer balls – you can imagine all of the great last minute gifts that were picked up.

Rotarians added to the festivities preparing chili, lasagna and hot dogs for all to enjoy.  While our Rotarians were busy offering the lunch, the little visitors were busy decorating and eating cupcakes for dessert.

Windreach Farm is just one of many local organizations that the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise supports.  Windreach has a rich history and a vision to inspire, empower and change lives.  Their mission – Strive to enrich the lives of persons of all ages with disabilities and/or special needs by providing opportunities to enjoy experiences in farming, nature, outdoor recreation and other activities and to share those experiences with family and friends.
The Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise is proud to support Windreach Farm.
